Interpretation of the work by the artist:
The painter Géraldine felt the need to paint a moment of tenderness between her son and her cat, like a bubble or a break away from all stress. A moment of intimacy, a moment of hug. The cat carries inset a small baobab seen from below, signature of the artist Géraldine who symbolizes in her eyes, her own discreet presence in the painting.
For the record, initially a large baobab had been painted on the right in the orange background but its presence was too important, too heavy. The baobab was lodged in the medallion near the cat representing softness, security, well-being and comfort. Take the time to cuddle and pamper yourself... Experience tenderness!
Inspiration: portrait of the artist's son with his cat
Completion time: 5-6 hours spread over 1 month
A painting, a poem
"The hug"
A hug for life
Security with envy
They form a whole,
in tenderness, far from doubt.
Invulnerable set
Separated, destabilized.
Will he be with his found world
the light, away from the shadows?
